Inspired by the historic legacy of the legendary Speakers' Corner at Hyde Park in London —an emblem of free expression and open debate since the 19th century—, Àlex Armengol has driven the creation of the Speakers' Corner at the Hotel Termes Montbrió. This initiative was born with the vision of becoming an open meeting point, a space where the exchange of ideas, dialogue and shared reflection are placed at the heart of our community.
More than a simple series of events, the Speakers' Corner is a dynamic community of people who believe in the power of the spoken word to create a positive impact. It is meant for everyone: both for those who want to present their ideas from the platform and for those who prefer to listen and take part as audience, thus helping to build a plural, inclusive discourse of general interest.
In this inaugural stage, Associació Cave Cavet has joined the project by providing the content and coordination of this first series of talks, «L'aigua, un punt de trobada», built around three fundamental themes for our surroundings: water, the sea and the community. An alliance that brings together science, territory and outreach to make this forum a living space of reference.
